Oval-Back Arm Chair - Geometric Print

I did not get any before photos of this chair, but the fabric was plain red. This chair is a fairly simple one, but this particular one needed new foam badly.

Upholstery foam doesn't last forever. The general lifespan tends to be 10-20 years. After too long, the foam tends to do one of two things: It either gets really soft, or it turns to dust.

This chair was the latter:

The chair frame was fixed and touched-up, and new foam installed. Here is the after:

Four Wing Chairs in Black and White

These 4 different chairs all got a matching black and white treatment with contrasting piping. These included two blue chairs, a green reclining wing chair, and a plaid reclining wing chair. Three of the chairs went white and the fourth went black. The legs were also repainted in coloured lacquer.

I forgot to take "before" photos of the 4th chair (the second reclining wing chair) but I took one or two in-progress photos as I was taking the old fabric off.

Oval Back Arm Chair - Blue Micro Suede

This is a well made older (but not terribly old) sprung-seat chair in need of new upholstery. I didn't get a before photo, and this was done almost a year ago, so I don't recall what the previous fabric was. Maybe red? I believe we refinished the frame as well.

Here is the chair with the seat springs re-tied on new webbing.

Modern Tub Chair - Blue Swirl

This chair was damaged by pets and needed a bit of an update. The client picked something similar, but in blue rather than grey.

Carved Italian Arm Chair - Modern Geometric Print

This was a very nice Italian arm chair. The stuffing had completely disintegrated, and it was in desperate need of new upholstery. The original cover was a bright red velvet.

Before:

Note how all the tufting on the back has sagged and become baggy.

The back was not especially well finished.

This was the condition of the old foam padding.

You could just crumble it in your hands like dry cake.

P6250177

Here is the frame all stripped down (all the foam had to be replaced, and the client wanted to tufting/buttons). The springs are covered in a sort of thick mat material.

Bergere and Ottoman - Blue and White Floral Print

This is a lovely chair that we redid and the client also wanted a matching ottoman made for it. Unfortunately this was another piece that left the shop before I could take photos, but I do have photos of the completed ottoman.

The chair frame was also refinished to a dark brown, and with the same fabric.
